Kadeshi Swarmer

A tiny scratchbuilt model of a Kadeshi Swarmer from Homeworld.

Yet another old contest entry for Starship Modeler, and yet another scratchbuilt model of a ship from one of my favorite games: Homeworld. I played that game until my fingers bled, back in the winter of '99.

The base and stalk is just some wires coming from one of those fake tea lights with the LEDs in it. The LED's been put inside the gun pod, giving the engine a nice orange glow, just like in the game.

I made the master out of polyesther putty and rotocast this one in a silicone mold I made from that. It turned out pretty nice, but the mold is crap. It leaks and the seams don't line up properly. Maybe one of these days I'm gonna make a better one... pff, sounds like a lot of work. Maybe not.
